This consulting
engagement is focused on the assessment of an organization's
Software Configuration Management Process.

Description of Service
The first part of
the engagement is the Kickoff meeting with the key stakeholders
of the software configuration management team. PE will review
and validate the customer expectations and ensure the service
engagement meets those goals. PE will then meet one on one with
managers or leads such as configuration manager, defect tracking
manager, business analyst, release manager, QA, testing, project
leaders and any staff identified as a key stakeholders.
Stakeholders will be expected to discuss topics covering
configuration management process, release process, defect
tracking process, promotion process and deployment process. In
addition, stakeholders will provide pre-identified artifacts
necessary to conduct the interviews. Stakeholders may be asked
to complete questionnaires prior to the Kickoff meetings. This
phase of the engagement is to document and understand the
&ldqou;as
is” condition of process for the configuration management aspect
of the SDLC.
In the second
part of the engagement PE works with the identified stakeholders
to identify optimization opportunities. The “Optimization
Report” will incorporate interview notes, observations, details,
explanations, examples and draws conclusions from relationships
and patterns that emerge from data and use appropriate visual
aids and media to communicate its results. The Optimization
Report provides a roadmap of detailed actions and
recommendations pertaining to process so that an organization
may optimize its software configuration management process.
