Overview
In this Process Exchange workshop, you will gain first-hand
experience with the core best practices of Feature Driven
Development (FDD). You will compare those practices to
your organization’s software development best practices.
Look at areas for improvement, and come up with ideas
for incorporating the best practices in your organization.
This in-depth look at FDD’s basic skill set will
expose the participant to the key concepts that are the
components of all successful Feature-Driven Development
projects.
Workshop Format
All Process Exchange workshops use the amplified learning
technique pioneered by Peter Coad. Using a combination
of lecture snippets and hands-on exercises participants
quickly begin to learn the subject matter at hand.
Working in feature teams, participants will experience
the power of collaboration while working together on
such tasks as: modeling the business solution, distributing
the workload, measuring their results, controlling project
deliverables, and maintaining a quality product.
Workshop Objectives After attending this workshop,
participants should be ready to begin using the eight
best practices in FDD:
- Domain Object Modeling
- Developing by Feature
- Individual Artifact (Code) Ownership
- Feature Teams
- Inspections
- Regular Builds
- Configuration Management
- Reporting/Visibility of Results
