Overview
The Chief Architect is responsible for the overall
design of the system. When disputes arise between modeling
teams, you make the design decisions that keep the project
moving forward. You need strong modeling and technical
skills, as well as the ability to facilitate a design
session.
During this workshop, you will learn how to facilitate
design meetings. You will discuss patterns, audits and
metrics, and build strategies that will help accelerate
and improve the quality of your projects. You will also
see how your role is critical to the successful use
of design and code inspections.
Workshop Format
All Process Exchange workshops use the amplified learning
technique pioneered by Peter Coad. Using a combination
of lecture snippets and hands-on exercises participants
quickly begin to learn the subject matter at hand.
Participants in this workshop will complete several
exercises on their own, and will work on their collaboration
skills by working through a number of project scenarios
with other participants.
Workshop Objectives
After attending this workshop, participants will have
worked these chief architecture skills:
- Managing the System Design
- Advising the Project Manager
- Mentoring the Feature Teams
- Working with Domain Models
- Working with Design Models
- Supporting the Design Inspection
- Supporting the Code Inspection
- Incorporating Design Patterns
